Hafnia becomes a member of the UN Global Compact

In December 2023, Hafnia took a significant step forward in enhancing transparency towards its ESG strategy by becoming a member of the UN Global Compact.

 

By enlisting in the UN Global Compact, Hafnia pledges to enforce its commitment towards human rights, labour standards, environmental sustainability and anti-corruption committing to incorporate the Principles of the UN Global Compact into its strategies, policies, and procedures.

 

During 2024, Hafnia’s ESG Team will engage in the annual Business & Human Rights Accelerator course to gain expertise on supply chain mapping and gain the instruments to work with human rights and perform due diligence following the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) requirements.

As a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General, the United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action

in support of UN goals. With more than 15,000 companies and 3,000 non-business signatories based in over 160 countries, and 69 Local Networks, it is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world.
